Saudi Arabian oil facilities were attacked by Iranian drones last weekend, leading President Trump to threaten retaliation; others in Congress, however, are blaming the president for the attack.
Democratic representative Jim Hines attacked the president on MSNBC Thursday, according to The Daily Caller, saying that the terrible attacks are the fault of recent U.S. foreign policy.
“Would the Iranians be behaving themselves? No, they wouldn’t,” Himes said. “But what they’re doing in Saudi Arabia, they’re doing because we walked away from an agreement that we didn’t need [to walk] away from.”
“We need to remember that we are where we are because of the actions of Donald Trump,” he added.
U.S. and Saudi officials have stated that they believe Iran was behind the drone strike, and President Trump has begun talking of retaliatory strikes against the Islamic Republic, saying in a tweet that the U.S. was “locked and loaded.”
